Catchfire Media Debuts in Des Moines

New social media strategy and consulting firm assists organizations to drive business through social networking sites

DES MOINES–Catchfire Media, a social media strategy and consulting firm, celebrated its official launch to the public today at downtown Des Moines' Jasper Winery. Regional business and community leaders attended the launch event to learn how social media can help their organizations better communicate with their customers and constituents.

Catchfire Media offers businesses and organizations comprehensive social media strategic consulting support and analysis. The firm combines the region's brightest social media minds and proprietary analytical tools to engage target audiences and deliver results. The firm's services include an evaluation of social media practices, strategic development, real-time monitoring, insightful analysis, online promotional campaigns, competitor tracking, best practices, education and training, and return on investment tracking.

Catchfire Media was started by Jon Troen and Nathan Kring. Troen is the President and CEO of Colorfx and Rock Communications, holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Iowa with a B.A. in business administration. Kring, who is Executive Vice President of Colorfx and Rock Communications, also holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, and graduated with merit from the United States Naval Academy with a B.S. in political science.

Troen and Kring chose to open Catchfire Media in Iowa because of the high quality, educated, and motivated workforce available in the state.

Katie Miller-Smith serves as Director, leading Catchfire Media’s team of analysts. Senior Analyst Jarad Bernstein's previous experience includes community building, marketing, crisis communications, and media relations. Mike Templeton is an Analyst at the firm who previously focused his work on the intersection of marketing and technology, leveraging the web for results-driven initiatives. Abby Harvey, Catchfire Media Analyst, is a former Editorial Assistant at Meredith Corporation and a Glamour magazine intern in New York City.
